Profile Save & Restore

This guide applies to:
    SPR-M
    SPR-X
    3100-SM+
    3100-SX+
    3100-TX

The BIOS configuration can be saved/restored in the following ways:

  • To or from a file
  • In the internal BIOS profile manager

Saving BIOS Profile to a File

Please note - this function is not supported on BIOS version 0215 (Initial Release), or IPMI firmware 1.1.34

Please contact support if you need help upgrading.


Via IPMI WebUI

  • From the IPMI webui, navigate to "Maintenance -> BIOS User Profile Update"
  • Click "Download BIOS User Profile file"


  • This will download a "OOB.CMO" file, which can be renamed as you like. Please store this for future use


Via Linux

This can be done remotely using the "BMCBIOSUserProfile" script like so:

./BMCBIOSUserProfile  -a backup -i <bmc_ip> -u <username> -p <password> -o <output-filename>
Note: You may need to make the script executable by using the "chmod +x"

Note: Please reach out to support for access to this script.


Restoring BIOS Profile from a File

Please note - this function is not supported on BIOS version 0215 (Initial Release), or IPMI firmware 1.1.34

Please contact support if you need help upgrading.
Note the system does not need to be powered off to begin the process, but a restart will be required for changes to take affect.

Via IPMI WebUI

  • From the IPMI webui, navigate to "Maintenance -> BIOS User Profile Update"
  • Click "Choose File", and select your saved profile, "<filename>.CMO"
  • Click "Upload BIOS User Profile file"


  • Once uploaded, a message will be displayed
  • You will now need to reboot the system for changes to take affect - you can use the quick controls at the bottom of the page


Please note, you will need to let the system boot once, the system will then reboot and changes will have taken affect


Via Linux

This can be done remotely using the "BMCBIOSUserProfile" script like so:

./BMCBIOSUserProfile  -a restore -i <bmc_ip> -u <username> -p <password> -o <output-filename>

Using the Internal BIOS Profile Manager


Multiple profiles can be saved and restored form the internal BIOS ROM. Please note these will be lost if the BIOS is flashed/updated.


  • Enter the BIOS and navigate to "Tool -> Asus User Profile"



Saving Profile

  • Enter a short name in the "Profile Name" field
  • Enter a number corresponding to a save slot in the "Save to Profile" field
  • Press the enter/return key on the "Save to Profile" field to save the profile


Loading Profile


  • Enter the number of the corresponding save slot in the "Load from Profile" field
  • Press the enter/return key, and select yes to the confirmation prompt
  • Save and exit the BIOS via the "F10" key or via the "Exit -> Save Changes & Reset" page
