Below is a guide on how to create a RAID1 through board when a RAID Card is not present on a RL & RL+ unit.
TABLE OF CONTENTS
Set up BIOS settings
To start off with you will need to enter the BIOS by pressing DEL or F2 when the system in booting. You do not need to enter in the AI Tweaker password this can be skipped with esc.
Once in BIOS navigate to the Advanced tab. Then the System Agent (SA) Configuration and finally VMD Set up.
To configure the system to be able to create a RAID through the SATA ports both Map PCIe Storage and Map this Root need to be enabled.
Once enabled the system will then need to be restarted. This can either be done via the Save and Restart function under the Exit tab in the BIOS or by pressing F10.
Once the system has restarted you will need to get back into BIOS and then to the Advanced tab.
We will now go into Intel Rapid Storage Configuration.
If the previous set has works then you should see disks that are able to be RAID together (Right Image). If the step above hasn't worked then you it will be blank (Left Image)
Once in you should be able to see disks (In this case only two Patriot P120 disks)
Once inside you can Name the Volume to a desired name (Default is Volume1) and then select RAID Level (By default this is set to [RAID0 (Striped)] This can be changed to [RAID1 (Mirror)].
You will then need to select the disks that you are wanting to be used. Once disks are selected it will give you the capacity and then create the RAID1.
Once the RAID has been created you should see an a screen similar to the one bellow.
